Purpose

In poor communities majority of births occur at home and are attended by untrained traditional birth attendants. Our study reveals that the major causes of maternal deaths are hemorrhage, puerperal sepsis, toxemia of pregnancy and obstructed labor. Precious lives can be saved by curtailing the diagnosis time and proactive health services. In order to do so; post and pre natal data is gathered and sent by community midwife worker to a clinical decision support system via mobile, also viewable by a medical specialist through an EMR(electronic medical record) web interface. In case of emergency situation Global Positioning System is used, to locate the position of patient for the ambulance to reach in the remote villages where it is not easy to find a physical address.
