Flexible Solutions For the Education Sector

Education is first step for any nation towards success.

FINCON aims to support and implement education reforms to make this sector responsive to changing democratic, social and economic conditions by improving its efficiency and effectiveness. We believes in quality, equitable education for all.

In the formal education sector, FINCON and associates have established community schools. Through gradual upgrades and a sustained effort, some of these schools have been transformed into Boys High Schools and a Girls College. Presently there are 129 NFBE Centers being managed by FINCON and its associates.

Establishment of a Vocational Training Center (VTC) was the first 100% community-supported initiative undertaken by FINCON’s education consultancy.

FINCON and its associates have successfully established linkages between women trained in the VTCs and micro-credit programs, increasing their ability to work as independent entrepreneurs.

FINCON in the Education Sector

FINCON believes in quality, equitable education for all. With this in mind, FINCON and its associates have taken following initiatives:

Formal Education

In the formal education sector, FINCON and associates have established community schools. Through gradual upgrades and a sustained effort, some of these schools have been transformed into Boys High Schools and a Girls College. Currently there are more than 850 students enrolled in the college, an affiliate of the Punjab Education Foundation (PEF), which provides support for quality educational services through teacher training, external evaluation, and replacement of tuition fee with conditional financial support from PEF. These schools are successfully self-managed through a community partnership. Current enrollment totals more than 1000 students and more than 350 students have already graduated from the program, out of which, 63% were female. The schools serve as a hub to several non-formal schools and provide a link to the college.

Non Formal Education

The first ever center was established in a desert area of NurPur Thal. Presently there are 129 NFBE Centers being managed by FINCON and its associates in both the Tehsils of district Khushab (NurPurThal and Khushab). Nearly 2500 rural children have successfully passed the 5th grade examination. There are more than 4100 currently enrolled in these schools, out of which 60% are female.

Vocational & Technical Education:

Establishment of a Vocational Training Center (VTC) was the first 100% community-supported initiative undertaken by FINCON’s education consultancy. Presently there are two VTCs in Mitha Tiwana providing training in knitting, sewing, embroidery, and other skills for women in the area. More than 800 women have benefited from the two VTCs since 1992.

FINCON and its associates have successfully established linkages between women trained in the VTCs and micro-credit programs, increasing their ability to work as independent entrepreneurs.
