As a socially responsible corporate FINCON Services Inc. has taken an ambitious initiative to develop a specialized training programme for women entrepreneurs that will enable them to meet the economic challenges of today’s world and will enhance their economic participation. According to that FINCON has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IWCCI). The MOU signing ceremony was held in Islamabad Club, on 25th November, 09, Wednesday to help establish and strengthen the capacity of women entrepreneurs. The president FINCON, Mr. Shahid Yusaf and President IWCCI Ms. Samina Fazil signed the MoU.
The MoU outlines an agreement that will encourage & foster partnership initiatives, ventures, research and development, business incubation centers, and will support value chain development management between FINCON & IWCCI. It will also facilitate academia and industry linkages, knowledge management, access to financial services, and institutional strengthening of IWCCI.
On the other hand IWCCI has been formed exclusively for aid & assistance of women entrepreneurs and professional women. As there is multitude of businesses run solely by women in Pakistan, it is the need of the day to provide a separate chamber for them. This chamber acts as a forum providing an atmosphere catering particularly to needs and requirements of women entrepreneurs and helping them in promoting their business in local, national & international market.
This initiative will focus on identifying the new market driven opportunities, supporting value chain development management, R&D, and innovation activities. This project will also facilitate academia and industry linkages, access to financial services and institutional strengthening of IWCCI. The Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry is supporting women entrepreneurs in providing advisory support, identification of suitable businesses and enhancement of their skills. The main objective of the agreement is to broaden participants’ vision and thereby improving knowledge about planning and organizing various trade-specific Entrepreneurship Development Opportunities.
It is expected that all the members who acquire training will have a great learning experience and valuable exposure of the business world, which will built their confidence. The project also proves to be a huge marketing platform for women entrepreneurs.
Mr. Yusaf highlighted the need of an effective business enabling environment as a building stone for nourishment of entrepreneurs and economic revival of Pakistan. He also stressed the need of generating economic activity at the community level as an effective alternate solution to the social safety nets.”
